'90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise' returns for a steamy and dramatic second season
Get ready for round 2! '90 day Fiancé: Love in Paradise' will introduce us to new and returning couples on a rocky journey
This isn't the getaway you imagined. Sure, 90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise features glamorous accommodations, but that doesn't mean the vacationing couples are in the midst of their honeymoon phase.
Fresh off the heels of The Ultimatum, we're keeping busy with Temptation Island season 4 and patiently waiting for Love Island season 8. Fortunately, the reality TV gods have bestowed another series of dating ups and downs upon us, and we're prepared to show our appreciation with a marathon.
Messy fights, lies, scandal—what exactly does Paradise have in store for us in round 2? Allow us to fill you in. (Psst: this is not to be confused with Bachelor in Paradise season 8.)
'90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise' plot
An offshoot of fan-favorite 90-Day Fiancé, this series follows couples who've connected virtually from across the world. Rather than meet in one another's respective home towns—as they do on the original show—they're attempting to take their relationship to a new level while on a tropical getaway. Some, however, did meet while on vacation and are attempting to make things work in the real world.
Not too shabby, huh? Well, as we hear in the teaser: "It's easy to fall in love while you're on vacation. But in real life, there's nothing magical about it."
Even if the sand is white and the water's warm, in-person connections always seem to change when they move from the virtual realm to the real world.

This season, we'll reunite with three couples who premiered on the series debut and we'll be introduced to two LGBTQ+ couples, the first in the franchise's history.
In the teaser, we experience a little bit of everything: discrepancies, fear of authenticity and even a few parenting ups and downs (one woman got pregnant in season one).
"Don’t forget your hats and sunscreen, because no vacation fling is without drama that can leave you burned," Discovery+ said in a statement. "For the couples appearing on the new season, returning home from a tropical getaway not only brings a case of jet lag but also mixed emotions and empty promises, as the blinders of love come off and real-life sets in."
We'll be venturing to the DR, Colombia, Jamaica, Costa Rica and Mexico.

Meet the '90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise' couples
Daniele (New York) and Yohan (Dominican Republic)
While vacationing in the Dominican Republic, Daniele met and fell in love with Yohan. Now that the two are planning to marry, will they be able to start a family? And, more importantly, will Yohan want to stay with Daniele if she is unable to conceive?
Valentine (California) and Carlos (Colombia)
Although the two fell in love virtually, will their connection be enough once they meet IRL? The pandemic kept them apart, but now they're trying to make a love life work.
Frankie (Tennessee), Abby (Mexico) and Gaby (Mexico)
No, there are no typos here—there are three people in the mix. Frankie had a threesome with Abby and Gaby while on vacation, and he continued a love affair with Abby. Now that he wants to move forward and propose, will Gaby be OK with it? Well, she doesn't know they've kept in touch and fell in love, so...
Aryanna (Illinois) & Sherlon (Jamaica)
The two met in season one, and Aryanna had their son, but Sherlon remains in Jamaica. Will they be able to be a family once they reunite, or is the monogamy going to be too much for Sherlon to accept?
Amber (Flordia) and Daniel (Costa Rica)
Amber met Daniel while in Costa Rica. Fast-forward four years and the two are together, living in Florida, but there are questions about Daniel's commitment to the relationship. Will they be able to make a romance work, even though they've left paradise long ago?
