Are Joey and Kariselle still together, or have the Perfect Match cast members gone their separate ways?

The debaucherous Netflix show, which hit our screens in February, invited singles from several of the streamer's reality series—Too Hot To Handle, Love Is Blind, etc.—to find romance in a luxurious villa (here's where Perfect Match was filmed, if you're in search of vacation inspo.). And things got off to a rocky start practically immediately, of course. 

Fans were quickly drawn to Joey Sasso, from The Circle season 1, and Kariselle Snow from Sexy Beasts season 1, because of their outgoing personalities and previous history—but there were definitely red flags within the relationship. So are Kariselle and Joey still together, months after the airing of the show? Let's catch up on where we left them, and where they are today...

Joey and Kariselle: their relationship history

In a confessional on the show, Kariselle revealed that she and Joey first met off of the show—and in a slightly unusual manner!

"So, I met Joey in L.A., and uh, yeah. It was wild. He looked me straight in my face and told me he's in love with me, literally said he was going to marry me one day, and I fell for it," she explained.

In the past, the two had different ideas about commitment, which ultimately led to an unstable partnership. But while on Perfect Match, they both decided to put their eggs in one basket. While others in the villa jumped around, they matched with one another time and time again, week after week.

The uncertainty might've deterred other singles, but Joey from Perfect Match and Kariselle attempted to give their partnership a fighting chance while on the show, which is not what any of us were expecting. We had two bickering lovers who couldn't see eye-to-eye who turned out to...be a good match?

"I've worked too hard for this man," Kariselle shouts while venturing up to her bedroom with Joey.

Despite this, when the Perfect Match winners were announced, to everyone's surprise, it wasn't Kariselle and Joey who took the prize. However, while they might not have won the free vacation Netflix promised...they did get engaged!

"We would be sitting, talking about the future and what's going to happen after and I'm the type of person that, when I get something in my head I can't unsee it," Sasso told Newsweek. "So I remember it was lunch time and I think we maybe had a week left to go on the show and I just thought 'I'm going to marry this girl, I'm going to ask her to marry me."

So, following the final batch of Perfect Match episodes, everyone has inevitably been curious about what transpired between the show's fan favorites.

Are Joey and Kariselle still together from 'Perfect Match'?

Given the huge commitment they made at the end of the series, are Joey and Kariselle still together? Unfortunately, their romance did not surpass their vacation at the villa. Explaining that distance was a main factor driving them apart, Sasso revealed to Netflix Tudum that they are still "working on" their friendship currently.

“You live in different places, you’re trying to get on the same page with each other,” he said. “I think that both of us really respected each other enough to be able to walk away from the situation and really give each other time, distance, space.” 

Speaking to Variety, he also assured that he and Kariselle ended on relatively good terms—but that their romantic adventure is most definitely over.

"Relationships in general are extremely difficult and it’s hard to sit here and say exactly what happened because it’s extremely personal between the both of us," he said.

"We have so much in common, but I just think that we really tried to do everything we could to work on everything. We both had the best of intentions, but we have a lot of differences that separate us with the things that we want and the way that we feel about each other… That chapter of my life is over."

When astrologers took at a look at the Perfect Match cast zodiac signs, our two Sagittarius lovers were deemed an "adventurous" couple, so here's hoping if they don't reunite later, they'll still find common ground as friends.
