December astrology events 2022
1. Sagittarius Season (November 22 to December 21)
Sagittarius season coincides perfectly with the holiday season, as it's a time to get more lively and connect with those around you. Expect feelings of optimism and spontaneity.
2. Neptune Direct (December 4)
Beginning December 4, in the midst of Sagittarius season, Neptune will start to move forward in Pisces, just like Jupiter direct. After some cosmic upheaval in late October and early November (a certain eclipse season ring any bells?), we're definitely anxious for this transit.
"There will be this undeniable absolution in love and a general feeling of surrendering to the unknown without fear," astrologer Liz Simons says of Neptune retrograde's end. "Direct Neptune may even elevate our creativity, allowing us to explore our fantastical side through our intuition and emotional expression."

3. The Full Moon (December 7)
The December 2022 full moon, also coined the Cold Moon, will be a wonderful time to be open-minded and expand your horizons, but don't let conflict brew when communicating with those around you—that's where problems start, according to the professionals.
For the next full moon, we spoke to astrologers to see who's going to really resonate with the energy, how everyone will be affected by the event—regardless of birth charts—and more cosmic intel.
4. The Winter Solstice (December 21)
Ready for the shortest day of the year? The winter solstice might feel dark, but its energy is bright.
"It’s all about new beginnings, magic, evolution, inventiveness and the sacredness of life," says astrologer Michelle Bell, founder of Cosmic Fusion says of the event. "This is the time to tap into the transformative energy of the solstice."

5. Capricorn Season (December 21, 2022 to January 19, 2023)
Just as we ring in the winter solstice, Capricorn season will begin.
"While Capricorn season is about hard work, control and determination, it’s also the time to celebrate your wins and reap the rewards of your diligent self-discipline," Bell says. "This month is a reminder that you deserve your success."
6. The New Moon (December 23)
The next new moon takes place in Capricorn (and shortly after the winter solstice). We can expect to set new intentions and get our goals aligned for the new year ahead.
Mercury Retrograde (December 29, 2022 to January 18, 2023)
We end the year with Mercury retrograde 2022 and begin the next with Mercury retrograde 2023. Talk about a fun New Year's Eve celebration. Don't fret, though, as much as Mercury gets a bad rep, the next three spins coming up (excluding the final of 2023) all take place within one sign, so it's more manageable.
"These first three might be somewhat easier to go through since earth energy is stable, determined and rational," Simmons says. "So, it might be easier to work through the logistics of the craziness that Mercury retrograde could bring."
