Every time Florence Pugh and her sheer dresses have left us speechless
No one does the 'naked dress' trend like Florence Pugh...
These Florence Pugh sheer dress moments are everything, so here's a recap of her best see-through fashion looks to date and how to channel Miss Flo when recreating the sheer dress trend yourself...
After that iconic Florence Pugh pink dress moment from the Valentino fall 2022 couture show, the mesh and tulle masterpieces have just kept on coming, solidifying (in our eyes, anyway) Flo, as the undisputed queen of the 'see-thru' dress movement—which seemingly has every celeb in a chokehold right now.
And naturally, along with all of Florence's hair transformations, we're keen to take cues from her daring style for our own capsule wardrobes. So, allow us to take you on a tour of the Oppenheimer actress's best red-carpet serves.
The best Florence Pugh sheer dress moments
Florence, in the last two years alone, has rocked at least six, dreamy sheer looks, from her most recent icy blue Valentino outfit to that now-iconic, transparent pink dress...
1. Florence Pugh pink dress
Ah, the look that started it all. The Brit went full Barbiecore for Valentino's fall 2022 couture show in Rome back in July, sporting a hot-pink chiffon gown that caused quite the controversy due to its free-the-nipple sheerness. The outspoken actress clapped back at critics, posting on Instagram: "Grow up. Respect people. Respect bodies. Respect all women. Respect humans. Life will get a whole lot easier, I promise. And all because of two cute little nipples…."
Florence was ahead of her time with this look, as 2023 has seen a huge surge in sheer dresses hitting the red carpet, but none really compare to this Florence Pugh pink dress serve!
2. Florence Pugh's blue sheer dress
Florence blew us away with the ethereal, baby blue sheer dress—which she wore to the Valentino Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2023/2024 show. She paired the look with her pink buzzcut and some black, platform heels. We especially loved the matching moment between Florence and Emma Chamberlain, who was also sporting a mesh look.
3. Florence Pugh's Tiffany sheer look
Florence Pugh's tulle dress from the reopening of Tiffany & Co's 5th Avenue store still lives in our minds rent-free. The sleeves, the color, her hair—the whole look is just perfect!
4. Florence Pugh's Valentino sheer skirt
Let's take a moment for Florence Pugh's latest sheer fit! She wore this Valentino combo to the Valentino Womenswear Fall Winter 2023-2024 show during Paris Fashion Week and looked totally ethereal!
Sheer pieces are having such a moment right now and we reckon Florence Pugh can be attributed to the rise of the trend, especially after this mesh skirt moment!
5. Florence Pugh sheer top and skirt
When you think fashion, you think France and Florence Pugh brought it when visiting the City of Lights for Paris Fashion Week. On October 2 at the Valentino after-party, the actress stunned in the label's Tulle Illusione Embellished Crop Top and matching Tulle Illusione Embellished Maxi Skirt.
6. Florence Pugh 'Don't Worry Darling' dress
Pugh donned yet another glittering, tulle Valentino confection for the Don't Worry Darling premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September. (Yes, the premiere that prompted that whole #Spitgate scandal.)
Florence Pugh's *other* best fashion moments
Now, while Florence Pugh's sheer dresses often garner all the attention, the Don't Worry Darling star has quite the repertoire of red carpet looks that also deserve some recognition...
Florence Pugh's Bafta dress
This dress and hair combo literally brought the internet to its knees. Florence stepped out in this extravagant and elegant orange offering of ruffles and tulle—going so far as to even match her micro fringe and hair to the structured frills of fabric.
This dress showed off Florence's love of sheer outfits and was customized made for her and designed by Harris Reed, the Creative Director of Nina Ricci.
Florence Pugh purple Venice Film Festival co-ord
Ah yes, the outfit that helped spawn all of those Miss Flo memes. Pugh showed up at the 79th Venice Film Festival last month looking relaxed AF in head-to-toe purple—what else—Valentino. The matching set included a bandana lace bandeau top, shacket and shorts, capped off with cat-eye sunglasses, a leather shoulder bag and kicky heels from the label's resort collection.
Florence Pugh's mod cape
The star looked like a midcentury marvel at the Valentino Womenswear Spring/Summer 2023 this month in a skintight pink minidress, white cape and super-high platform heels from the brand. The sweet cape was reminiscent of her Little Women character, Amy March, while the rest of the flirty ensemble screamed '60s chic à la her Don't Worry Darling heroine Alice.
Florence Pugh's Louis Vuitton Oscars gown
Outfitted in a tiered emerald-green gown by Louis Vuitton, Florence looked every bit the worthy contender at her first Oscars ceremony, during which she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her Little Women performance.
This Florence Pugh floral set
Stacked necklaces, combat boots and dip-dyed hair added a punk edge to the floral Dior outfit the actress wore to Paris Couture Week back in 2021.
Florence Pugh's gingham dress
Pugh looked fittingly ladylike at a 2019 Little Women photocall at London's Soho Hotel. However, sharp cut-outs and strong shoulders kept the pink gingham midi from feeling too saccharine-sweet.
Florence Pugh's metallic dress
Leave it to Florence Pugh to look easy-breezy and effortless even while wearing a sequined Galvan London dress and gold Jimmy Choo sandals, which she sported while arriving at Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2020. Tousled beach waves and cool sunnies keep things feeling young and fresh.
