Law Roach shows us exactly how to rock sequins off duty this season with Halle Bailey's Vogue shoot
Sequins for spring anyone? Law Roach says yes...
If you've been searching for some bold, spring-ready styles to add to your capsule wardrobe, allow The Little Mermaid's Halle Bailey's Vogue shoot to inspire you, as celebrity stylist, Law Roach proves that sequins aren't just for the red carpet...
For anyone who doesn't know, Law Roach (aka Luxury Law, as he's known on socials) is the creative mind behind all of Zendaya's outfits, from her Met Gala looks to that yellow Oscars dress. Now, he's lending his styling know-how to Ariel herself, dressing her in bold dopamine-boosting knits and understated sequins for her cover shoot for British Vogue.
While we've already seen sheer dresses and silver fashion take center stage (not to mention Zendaya's Coachella ruffled mini dress!), Law and Halle are making a case for off-duty sequins—here's a closer look at the shoot...

So, about those fits! The actress appeared on the May 2023 issue to discuss the imminent release of her debut as everyone's favorite aquatic princess, Ariel, in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. In the interview, she dished on her audition process and what the role means to her. We even got an update on Halle Bailey's dating sitch—but while we could rattle on for hours about this interview, we're here to talk about the outfits!

Law Roach styled Halle in four fits; we saw her wearing a brown and white rugby-style jersey with a Miu Miu tee underneath and gold huggie earrings from Cartier, then a bright red cable-knit jumper (think Marianne's iconic sweater from Normal People), an orange ruffled dress—paired with some see-through, coastal-cowgirl-esque cowboy boots with white trimming—and finally an orange and black sequin jacket.
The vibrant jacket was toned down with a pair of biker shorts with the addition of some snake-print knee-high boots, which were giving all the cool-girl vibes.

Each fit centered mainly around one statement piece—like the sequin jacket and red knit—seemingly demonstrating that the key to wearing louder staples on the daily is balance.
The boots and the sequin jacket were broken up with some simple black shorts, while her ruffled dress (ruffles are in, we're calling it!) was paired with some see-through boots which were also bold but didn't steal focus from the vibrant orange hue.
We get it, sequins are a little scary. They are synonymous with party-wear, but this shoot proves you can in fact dress them down, by pairing them with simple staples. Think a sequin top with some chic black trousers and heels or a pair of wide-leg jeans. Besides, if you take styling cues from Law Roach, you can't go wrong!
