Is 'Top Gun: Maverick' streaming?
On November 22, it was announced that Top Gun: Maverick will be hosted on the streaming platform Paramount Plus. Per Deadline, the blockbuster will be available to stream on the service in the US as well as in the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Latin America. (South Korea and France will join the lineup in 2023.)
That means you will need a paid Paramount Plus subscription to watch the movie from the comfort of your own couch. Current Paramount Plus subscriptions include the ad-supported Essentials plan ($4.99 per month or save 16% off your monthly price with an annual plan for $49.99 per year) and the commercial-free Premium plan ($9.99 per month or save 16% off your monthly price with an annual plan for $99.99 per year).
However, if Paramount Plus is not available in your country, that doesn't mean you have to sit out from enjoying Maverick.
A simple solution is to use a VPN service, which changes your IP address on your computer, or smart device, allowing you to continue to keep up with your favorite movies and shows when you're away from home.
Our go-to VPN service is ExpressVPN, rated as the best in the world by our colleagues at TechRadar. It's simple to use, it's super secure, there's a no-quibble 30-day money-back guarantee and, if you sign up for an annual plan, you'll get an extra three months absolutely free...
When will 'Top Gun: Maverick' be on Paramount Plus?
Consider it an early Christmas gift! Top Gun: Maverick will become available to stream on Paramount Plus on Thursday, December 22. It arrives on the platform at 3am Eastern or 12am Pacific.
'Top Gun: Maverick' plot: what is it about?
The Top Gun sequel is set 30 years after the original 1986 movie, with Tom Cruise reprising his starring role as the naval aviator and now flight instructor Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, who is tasked with training a new group of Top Gun recruits that includes the son of his late best friend Nick "Goose" Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards), with whom he has a contentious relationship.
“Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears,” the film’s official synopsis reads. It all culminates “in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.”

The sequel makes frequent callbacks to the original film, from the "Great Balls of Fire" singalong to, yes, yet another sweaty, shirtless beach volleyball game that has had social media thirsty since the movie came out earlier this year.
