While the pair attempted to dodge the romance rumors, confirmation finally came on March 3, 2023, during an interview with Today. During the appearance, Chase was quizzed by host Sheinelle Jones about whether he was a fan of Ballerini, to which he said: “Absolutely, I’m a fan. Yeah, who isn’t a fan?” 

Jones then quipped: “For those of you who don’t know, they’re dating,” to which Chase simply replied, “mmm hmm.”

She continued: "This deeply difficult decision is the result of a journey of love, growth, and effort that ultimately has come to an end. It's hard to find the words here…but I feel extremely grateful for the years of marriage to Morgan and hopeful for the next seasons."
