The new 'Love Island' cast for 2023 is here—and it's got us ready for all the upcoming villa drama

The Love Island UK 2023 cast has finally been confirmed—here's a who's who of all the islanders set to join host Maya Jama in Mallorca for season 10...

After finally receiving the precious intel that Love Island 2023's start date will be Monday, June 5, we now also have the confirmed lineup of singles, destined for a summer of chats, grafting and—if we're lucky—some dramatic scenes to top those of the most memorable Love Island moments to date.

The first 10 cast members will of course be joined by a host of bombshells, who are still yet to be announced, but for now, let's get acquainted with the islanders set to cross the villa's threshold in just under a week's time...

Who are the confirmed singletons for the 'Love Island' 2023 cast?

While we're still wondering what jaw-dropping fit Maya has in store for us to kick off her sophomore season of Love Island (who could honestly forget any Maya Jama Love Island outfits?!), the starting lineup is less of a mystery. We have all the intel on their pre-villa occupations, icks and romantic hopes for season 10.

So without further ado, the cast of Love Island 2023, come on down...

1. Ruchee Gurung

Name: Ruchee Gurung | Age: 24 | Job: Beautician

The first islander announced for season 10 was 24-year-old beautician, Ruchee Gurung. 

The Sutton local is 'single and looking for love' and hopes the villa will give her the opportunity to meet the right person. She described herself as caring, loyal and 'a relationship kind of girl,' to ITV, adding: "When I’m with someone I’m all about them. I’m also really loyal and love doing nice things for the people that are special to me. My love language is gift-giving, so I’m a real giver when it comes to relationships."

As for her icks, Ruchee is not a fan of lads that are lacking in the ambition department and also has a very relatable fashion turn-off: "I also get the ick if I see a guy wearing white jeans and red trainers. Another one is super skinny jeans when they look like leggings. Fashion is such an important thing for me. If I go on a date and the guy isn’t wearing something I like, I’m going home." Living for that!

2. Tyrique Hyde

Name: Tyrique Hyde | Age: 24 | Job: Semi-pro Footballer

Next up is Tyrique Hyde, 24, who is a semi-professional footballer from Essex. Tyrique promises to bring "vibes, confidence, good energy and honesty," adding: "I don’t sit on the fence, if I have an opinion I will speak up. I’m also not afraid to go after what I want."

Tyrique has also revealed that he's deaf in one ear and actually has a tattoo next to his right one that signifies strength and power. Oh and did we mention he's best pals with Love Island season 8 alumn, Toby Aromolaran? They apparently went to school together—though fingers crossed Tyrique is slightly luckier in love than his friend, with Toby splitting from his Love Island counterpart, Chloe Burrows, in 2022.

3. Molly Marsh

Name: Molly Marsh | Age: 21 | Job: Musical Theatre Performer and Social Media Creator

21-year-old Molly Marsh is a musical theatre performer and social media creator hoping to find the 'one' this summer. She says: "I don’t go out and party and I don’t use dating apps, I’m actually quite old-fashioned, so there’s no better way to meet someone than by going into a villa."

Funnily enough, this won't actually be Molly's first visit to the Mallorca villa (where Love Island is filmed). In fact, thanks to her job in social media, Molly has actually been in both the summer and winter villa before and is excited to return as an actual contestant this time. TV fame also runs in her family, as Molly is the daughter of Coronation Street actress, Janet Marsh.

4. George Fensom

Name: George Fensom | Age: 24 | Job: Business Development Executive

24-year-old George Fensom is a business development exec from Bedford who claims to always bring the 'vibe up.' He could be the islander's resident joker, as he says: "I’m always dancing, I’m always the one who wants to go out. My go-to dance move is what I call the Dad Dance, I’m gonna bring dad jokes and dad dancing to the Villa."

While his celeb crushes include Megan Fox and Nigella Lawson, George says he's looking for someone with 'drive' as well as 'natural' looks and banter to rival his own...

5. Catherine Agbaje

Name: Catherine Agbaje | Age: 22 | Job: Commercial Real Estate Agent

Catherine Agbaje is 22, from Dublin and works as a commercial real estate agent. She says she's 'never boring' and will bring fun and flirty energy to the villa, adding that you'll always see her with a smile on her face—we're a fan already.

As for what she's looking for in a fella, she explains: "Someone who is fun and a loving character. They know I have so much love to give. I’m always smiling, I’m always happy, I’m always laughing.

If you're after an interesting factoid about Catherine, she actually has not one but two degrees, explaining, "I have my undergrad and my master's in Psychology and Sociology and Real Estate."

6. Ella Thomas

Name: Ella Thomas | Age: 22 | Job: Model

Ella Thomas, 22 is a model from Glasgow who claims she's the 'whole package,' and 'wifey material', she also adds: "I know what I want in life and I’ve got a big heart."

As for where you might know her from, Ella says: "I’ve been in a Headie One and Burna Burna Boy music video and I was once an extra in World War Z. I was 12 years old when I filmed it and got to meet Brad Pitt which was cool."

7. Mehdi Edno

Name: Mehdi Edno | Age: 26 | Job: Communications Manager

Say bonjour to Mehdi! He's a 26-year-old communications manager from Bordeaux/London, who likes to speak French by way of charming potential partners.

As for why he's heading to the villa, Mehdi says: "I’ve been busy for the last few years with work, and doing my master's degree but now I’m done with the busy schedule, and ready to find love.

And, as far as his green flags, Mehdi says: "Looks are important but they aren’t everything, a good sense of humor and someone who is outgoing and up for an adventure is what I’m looking for."

8. Jess Harding

Name: Jess Harding | Age: 22| Job: Aesthetics Practitioner

Jess Harding is also joining the first wave of islanders. She's 22, from London and works as an aesthetics practitioner.

Detailing what she's bringing to the villa, Jess says she's got a big personality but a 'heart of gold,' adding: "I’m honest, and I love, love. I’m also a really good girlfriend.

She's heading to the villa in the hopes of finding 'Mr. Right' under the Mallorca sun, though she won't be going anywhere near someone who shows off their money, adding: "Showing off all their designer clothes because most of the time they’re probably fake anyway!" She also hates lunch boxes and a boy who 'runs for the train and the train goes without him'...which seems very specific...

9. André Furtado

Name: André Furtado | Age: 21| Job: Business owner

André is also set to join the starting lineup! He's 21 and a business owner who plans to charm his way by teaching his fellow islanders Portuguese, Spanish and 'a little bit of Creole'...

As for his love life, André: "I would say I fall too quickly, to be honest. When I look at beautiful ladies, before I’ve said hello to them I’ve already fallen in love. I’m already planning the wedding."

10. Mitchel Taylor

Name: Mitchel Taylor | Age: 26 | Job: Gas Engineer

26-year-old gas engineer, Mitchel Taylor—from Sheffield—is bringing 'gentleman' vibes to the villa.

He says, as a potential love interest: "I’ll shower you with flowers, I’ll take you on dates, I’ll fill your bedside drawer with your favorite sweets and chocolate. I’ve been single, I’ve had my fun and now I want to settle down."

In terms of what he's looking for with his Love Island stint, Mitchel says he's picky by looking for a wife, adding: "I’ve got to find the girl that I want to marry and have kids with. I’m nearly 27, I don’t want to play the field anymore, I want to find the one." Though, if said girl has food in her teeth or pays for things with change, he's running in the opposite direction. Now, there's a new ick for you...
