Retrogrades return

Yes, folks, it's true. On April 29, Pluto retrograde 2022 kicks off, which brings our nearly three-month long retrograde hiatus to a close.

The good news? There's something to look forward to, particularly for cardinal signs and earth signs.

"There's something really beautiful and helpful about Pluto that makes it one of the planets that can really guide your soul towards the most beautiful evolution and truth," says astrologer Noush with Girl and Her Moon. "It's about going through these deeper moments of understanding and uncovering them to gain a richer feeling of empowerment."

Several days later, from May 10 to June 2, Mercury retrograde 2022 will kick off its two of four backwards spins, but don't sound the alarms. It'll force us out of our comfort zones a bit, according to Lisa Stardust, author of The Astrology Deck: Your Guide to the Meanings and Myths of the Cosmos. However, these "growing pains" will be necessary—and for our betterment.

Yes, retrograde has a negative connotation in today's society, but it's actually the perfect time to take a step back, unwind and figure out what's holding you back. (Not to mention, it's a great opportunity to enjoy the best self-care practices.)

"Retrogrades are a time to rethink, review, revise,” says astrologer Liz Simmons. “Consider what you need to revamp in regard to your communicative capabilities."

Bottom line? No need to panic.

Venus and Jupiter make moves

Venus and Jupiter will be busy this month, particularly on May 2 and May 10, respectively.

According to our in-house astrologer, Athena Antares, these two celestial bodies will make their way into Aries, one of the fire signs. This will ultimately help us with our goals, as she insists it opens up a four-month timeframe in which we'll receive support to help us fulfill our dreams.

We'll take it!

The moon is movin' and grovin'

When is the next full moon? May 15, a total lunar eclipse in Scorpio.

"It can be a little bit more energetically charged in a way of releasing something and being forced into facing a fear or vulnerability" Noush says. "It's this energy that is pushing us to release in order to move forward a few steps further in the direction of the seed that we planted in the Taurus season."

When is the next new moon? May 30, in the sign of the twins. Athena says it'll bring a few opportunities for fun, which is exactly what we're looking for right before the summer starts!

'Tis the season

Taurus season 2022 runs from Tuesday, April 19 to Friday, May 20, and it's a time to plan ahead and build something substantial. Gemini season will pick up the slack on May 20. Expect to feel a bit more energy as a result!
