'RuPaul's Drag Race' season 15: competing queens, guest judges (Ari!) and how to watch
'Drag Race' season 15 will be one of the biggest in franchise history, with the largest cast *and* cash prize
Start your engines! RuPaul's Drag Race season 15 is upon us for what will be one of the biggest seasons in franchise history.
You might have thought Celebrity Drag Race was packed with famous faces, but the guest judges this season are a who's who of Hollywood, kicking off with the return of the one and only Ariana Grande back on the mainstage.
The largest Drag Race cast ever, sixteen new queens will compete for the title of "America's Next Drag Superstar," but with a souped-up incentive: a cool $200,000 for the winner, the highest cash prize in franchise history, in honor of the show celebrating its 200th episode during the upcoming season.
From the competing queens—including an identical twin team!—to the celebrity judges, here's everything you need to know about Drag Race season 15.
How to watch 'RuPaul's Drag Race' season 15:
Unlike previous editions of RuPaul's Drag Race, which aired on VH1, Drag Race season 15 will move to MTV as part of a global expansion of the franchise. The new season will premiere with back-to-back episodes on Friday, January 6 at 8pm ET/PT.
If your cable provider doesn't include MTV, don't start shaking in your heeled boots. You can stream RuPaul's Drag Race season 15 on Sling Blue with the Comedy Extra Pack.
MTV is one of the channel options for Sling TV—the first app-based TV service that allows you to stream live TV and on-demand programs. There are three subscription services available: Sling Blue, Sling Orange, or a combo package of the two.
A Sling Blue subscription is currently priced at $40 per month and includes channels like Bravo, TLC, HGTV, USA, A&E and more, and the addition of the Comedy Extra Pack (which includes MTV) is a supplemental $6 per month.
Along with that season 15 news, MTV announced three brand-new international editions of Drag Race—Mexico, Brazil and Germany—that will air on MTV and Paramount Plus in their respective territories.
