These are the star signs that *always* want their ex back, according to astrologers
Is your sign one of them?
Let's face it, no one handles heartbreak well, but certain star signs that want their ex back tend to fall into old ways fairly easily. (*Waves the red flag*)
There's no need for a deep dive into astrological birth charts, since we spoke to the pros about the members of the zodiac who find it a bit harder to cope. Though the cosmic pros tend to gravitate toward some signs more than others, there are universal truths we can all take into consideration when getting over a breakup, regardless of what the stars have to say about our makeup.
What are the star signs that want their ex back?
More often than not, astrologer Liz Simmons believes that fixed signs—Scorpio, Aquarius, Leo and Taurus—have the most difficult time parting ways with a significant other, and they can even be considered the zodiac signs that suffer the most after breakups.
"Their desire for loyalty and commitment may override their heartbreak," she tells My Imperfect Life. "Given that fixed signs don’t let go easily, these zodiac signs may try extra hard to win their partner back to make their relationship work."
Liz Simmons is a freelance writer, astrologer, and tarot reader based in Salem, MA. She views astrology and tarot as another tool in our arsenal to understand the cosmic interplay in our lives. Currently, Liz contributes astrological articles and horoscopes to StyleCaster, POPSUGAR and Astrology.com. She is also the resident astrologer at ASCEND Get Lifted.
Likewise, astrologer Kyle Thomas agrees but has a few tweaks on the culprits, stating that Cancer, Taurus and Scorpio are the ones who perhaps care about their ex more than they should.
"[Cancer] invest their emotions entirely into their connections and are often deeply troubled by relationships that do not work out," Thomas says. "Ruled by Venus, the planet of love, [Taurus] are also the zodiac sign that tends to hold onto relationships and wait for the 'one who got away' and cross paths—and get back together—with exes more than any other zodiac sign."
Scorpio, the beloved water signs, seems to take home the gold when it comes to hanging onto old romances that have faded.
"They [Scorpio] are the most possessive and passionate zodiac sign of all, so when they are all in,” they truly are all or nothing," Thomas adds.
Kyle Thomas is a globally recognized pop culture astrologer who has been featured on Access Hollywood, E! Entertainment, NBC and ABC television, Cosmopolitan, Entertainment Weekly, The New York Post, Page Six, Hulu, Seventeen, Bustle, Elite Daily, The Daily Mail, Marie Claire and more. He is known for his cosmic guidance for celebrities, business executives and prominent influencers. His work harnesses the power of the stars in regard to entertainment lifestyle and trends affecting people worldwide.
How to get over longing for an ex
We get it—you shared plenty of memories, both good and bad, and bidding adieu is not so cut and dry. However, astrologers have pointed out a few tips that fixed signs might want to utilize when nursing a broken heart.
"Fixed signs need to learn to be okay with a loss of control, especially in breakups and with exes," Simmons says.
Astrologer Dalila Salgueiro believes in channeling that Main Character Energy and switching the focus.
"To break this pattern these signs need to heal the relationship with themselves and build self-esteem," Salgueiro tells us. "As building your self-confidence and self-love is key to your manifesting journey."
She also suggests really taking the time to improve the relationships you have with other people and celebrating what makes them near and dear to your heart.
"Cultivate your relationships: caring and supportive interpersonal relationships are essential to your well-being," she says.
Dalila Salgueiro is an astro-manifesting coach and the founder of @themanifestingapp as well as Comms Ça PR agency based in London and New York.
Breakup coping mechanisms might look different for everyone, regardless of star signs, but there is one thing we can all take comfort in knowing: we'll experience pain when a relationship ends, but eventually, we'll all come out stronger than before.
