As per tradition, the dating experiment features a group of British singletons who will be matched by experts and marry total strangers "who they meet for the very first time on their wedding day." Wild, huh?
That said, Married at First Sight UK has actually had some IRL success in bringing couples together: former cast members Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling from MAFS season 6 are not only still together but welcomed the franchise's first baby, a daughter, in October 2022!

What happens on 'Married at First Sight UK' season 8?
The season 8 proceedings will no doubt be as drama-filled as its predecessors, but in case you're new to the MAFS world, here's the gist, per Channel 4: "The couples will make a lifelong commitment to one another at a glamorous ceremony, overseen by a wedding celebrant, that includes guests, bridal gowns, dancing, speeches and cake."
"After the ceremony and celebrations are over, true love is well and truly put to the test, as they embark on a luxurious honeymoon, before moving in with each other AND their fellow couples," the network continues. "Relationships will be put under the microscope, by fellow brides and grooms at weekly dinner parties – as well as by the experts, at recurring commitment ceremonies, where couples choose whether they want to stay in or leave the process."

Who are the experts on 'Married at First Sight UK'?
Married At First Sight UK's love experts for season 8 are Mel Schilling, Charlene Douglas and Paul C Brunson.
Of the expanded season, Douglas tells Virgin Radio UK that the larger episode count helped the experts connect to the cast.
"We've got the same format in terms of the weddings and the dinner parties and the commitment ceremonies and obviously, the vowel renewal at the end. It’s bigger and better, so 36 episodes. I feel like we really, really know these couples, because we've spent so much time with them," she told the outlet.
She continued: “We feel that this year, they've really taken on board our feedback, even at times when it's a bit uncomfortable. You'll definitely see some moments when I think things got a little bit uncomfortable for some of them, but they really stayed with it, which I'm really proud of.”
