Where was Netflix's show The One filmed?
Wondering where The One was filmed? Well, we have the answer...
If you've been watching Netflix's newest show, you might be wondering where The One was filmed.
The streaming service has been delivering hit after hit recently—thankfully since that pandemic has kept us spending a lot more time at home. While we're eagerly the second season of Bridgerton and the return of Selling Sunset, The One has joined our list of Netflix obsessions.
Where was The One filmed?
Netflix's new show The One was filmed in a few UK locations—namely Newport, Bristol, and Cardiff.
In Bristol, the filming locations include Colston Street near the top of Christmas Steps, outside the Marriott Hotel on College Green, Moon Street in St Paul’s, and Broad Street in Bristol’s Old City area.
The One cast also did some interior filming in Bristol, with some scenes shot at the Ironworks cafe on Broad Street, Pata Negra on Clara Street, Dela coffee shop on Easton’s Mivart Street, Bristol City Yoga studio on Backfields Lane in St Paul’s, and a Stapleton Road supermarket.
Some of the characters' homes were also located in Bristol, like a harbourside apartment at Westgate on Caledonian Road (Megan’s flat) and a residence on St Werburgh’s Mina Road which was the interior of Kate’s flat. Amy’s home scenes were shot at a property on Southville’s Greville Road.
What is The One about?
Based on a book by John Marrs, the new drama explores a question that could solve lots of our relationship dramas—can we find our perfect partner through DNA matching?
Instead of the endless swiping on dating apps that comes with modern love, imagine if you could find out who you can fall passionately in love by just giving a hair simple? Sounds a lot simpler, but maybe that's not the case...
The show is set five minutes into the future when scientists discover a gene that every human has and that matches them with one other person. One person who despite their race, religion, sexuality or age, you're meant to be with.
