Who is Alia Bhatt? Gucci’s first Indian global ambassador who sparkled at her Met Gala debut this month
Alia Bhatt is making serious waves in Hollywood and the fashion world—here's why she needs to be on your radar...
Following her successful debut at the 2023 Met Gala, actress and producer Alia Bhatt, has been tipped as the star on the rise—especially after Gucci named her their first-ever Indian global ambassador.
For anyone not yet familiar with Alia, the actress's career is prolific, to say the least. From her breakout Bollywood roles to becoming the recipient of the Time100 Impact Award in 2022, as well as featuring in the Golden Globe-nominated period film RRR.
Fast forward to 2023 and Alia is already taking on both the Hollywood and fashion world—from making her shimmery debut at the Met Gala dressed in a pearl-core gown (perhaps pearl is the new silver fashion trend), to her upcoming role alongside the likes of Jamie Dornan and Gal Gadot in Netflix's Heart of Stone. Now, the starlet has even added 'history-maker' to her list of accolades, as Gucci has named her their first-ever Indian global brand ambassador. So, as she continues her ascent to global fame, here's a peak inside her career, style and family...
Alia Bhatt for Gucci
As mentioned, the latest notch on Alia's career belt comes in the form of Gucci's first-ever Indian global brand ambassador.
She now joins the ranks of Harry Styles and Dakota Johnson as the brand's celebrity faces and is set to make her debut in her new role by attending Gucci's upcoming Cruise 2024 showcase in Seoul.
Gucci announced the news on Thursday, May 11, 2023 with a seriously chic shot, with Alia repping a mocha pin-striped suit and the iconic Gucci Bamboo 1947 bag—a vintage bag that retails from $3,500, but we're fans of the brand's modern twist on this classic with the Gucci Bamboo Diana bag that comes in slightly cheaper than the original.

Alia Bhatt at the Met Gala
Now, this latest Gucci news isn't the only landmark fashion-industry moment Alia has enjoyed this year.
The actress also made her first-ever appearance at the iconic Met Gala this year (themed 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty'). While sheer dresses and frosted eyeshadow were everywhere at the event, Alia truly stole the show by wearing the most beautiful pearl-encrusted gown, designed by Prabal Gurung, a favorite of Mindy Kaling.

Interestingly though, Naomi actually has a background in design, having studied illustration at Plymouth University but lept into the media world in 2020, after always having a passion for writing and earned her Gold Standard diploma in Journalism with the NCTJ.
Before working for Future Publishing’s Lifestyle News team, she worked in the Ad production team. Here she wrote and designed adverts on all sorts of things, which then went into print magazines across all genres. Now, when she isn’t writing articles on celebs, fashion trends, or the newest shows on Netflix, you can find her drinking copious cups of coffee, drawing and probably online shopping.
