Does Lorde have a boyfriend? Her new album 'Solar Power' seems to drop hints about her love life
What's the deal with Justin Warren, Lorde and their hush-hush relationship?
You can't fool fans: Justin Warren, Lorde and their chummy dynamic have long made listeners speculate that their friendship was something more. Now that Solar Power has dropped, at last, everyone is convinced that the New Zealand native is referencing the music executive with a few lovey-dovey new lyrics.
Earlier this year, everyone was questioning "What happened to Lorde?" After a four-year music hiatus, she returned to the scene with a new album that screams "summer." Everyone was relieved...then curious.

"Solar Power"
My boy behind me, he's taking pictures
Lead the boys and girls onto the beaches
Come one, come all, I'll tell you my secrets
I'm kinda like a prettier Jesus
"California"
Now in my hometown, sunbathing
My girlfriends, and my baby
But, every time I smell tequila
God, it goes up in my mind again
"The Man with the Axe"
And your office job
And your silver hair
But our shapes in the dark are the reason I've stayed
For all these years
"Big Star"
Baby, you're a big star
You're a big star
Wanna take your picture
'Til I die
'Til I die
'Til I die
Who is Justin Warren? Why fans are curious about him
Could these lyrics be about anyone? Of course! Could any guy of Lorde's take a photo of her and her friends on the beach? No doubt. But eagle-eyed fans who really dissected the songs' meanings seem to think that all signs point to Justin Warren, the Universal Music promotions director.
Perhaps the most notable is "The Man With the Axe," which references someone older with an office job and the same favorite albums as her father. It's believed that Warren is 41 years old, leaving them with a 17-year age gap.
The album's debut track "Solar Power" includes the lines: "My boy behind me, he's taking pictures / Lead the boys and girls onto the beaches," and we've caught wind of the pair frolicking on the beach. Seems coincidental, right?

Plus, last year the paps caught photos of the two out and about, he wearing an Oasis tee and she in a maxi dress. That smooch—and the silver hair—just might seal the deal, don't you think?

Then there was that time in New York City where they were canoodling while waiting for the subway. Not sure how many "friends" feel the need for a spur-of-the-moment hug while waiting to catch the R. Just saying!

Check out the "Solar Power" video below. In a "Watermelon Sugar"-esque setting (though less suggestive than that Harry Styles video), Lorde is seen frolicking on the beach in a neon yellow two-piece dress, professing her hatred of the cold and her love for warm weather...and the boy who's taking photos of it all.
Lorde, we'll be keeping our eye on you.
