Who does Will Poulter play in 'The Bear' season 2? Meet the newbie on Carmy's team
Yes, chef! We're making room in the kitchen for Will Poulter. 'The Bear's new addition for season 2
Will Poulter, The Bear's season 2 newcomer, is swapping the Marvel Cinematic Universe for The Beef.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's Adam Warlock will join Carmy Berzatto (a.k.a. Jeremy Allen White) and his ever-evolving staff as they try to take his brother's Chicago sub shop to a new level in season two of the FX/Hulu hit, which premiered on Thursday, June 22. If the widely popular debut season is any indication, we're in for a treat.
“Season 2 really is about the opportunity to start fresh and what does that mean," the show's creator Chris Storer told Variety. "What does Carmen and Sydney’s dream restaurant look like? But also at the same time, what is a dream restaurant in 2023 look like? I think that’s the thing they’re sort of battling with."
So, where does Will Poulter fit into all of this? Here's everything we know.
Meet Will Poulter, 'The Bear's' new addition
Given that The Original Beef of Chicagoland is essentially being redone from the ground up this season, it would only make for us to be introduced to more faces during this huge transition.
Poulter is set to play a Dutch pastry chef—quite fancy—and has a strong connection to season 1's Marcus (played by Lionel Boyce). Ahead of The Beef's facelift, Marcus ventures abroad, where he meets Poulter's character, who will help him master his pâtissier craft.
Will Poulter movies and TV shows
Aside from being a new member of the MCU—and now the beloved FX Original Series—Poulter has appeared in quite a few fan favorites, including Dopesick (2021), Midsommar (2019), and We're The Millers (2013), to name a few. Though the performer continues to evolve, he's pleased to know that others in the field are looking up to him.
"I remember watching Heartstopper and thinking, 'That person is really good at acting.” Then I saw an interview where Kit [Connor] was saying, “Growing up I watched Will Poulter," the actor told GQ. "Genuinely, that meant a lot to hear a younger actor say that about me. I never take it for granted if someone says they like my work."
We have a feeling this is only the beginning!

Who else is joining 'The Bear' in season 2?
Will Poulter is not the only new foodie we meet this season. Additionally, the cast will include Bob Odenkirk (who's, of course, known for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul) and Molly Gordon (from Booksmart and You People).
Odenkirk is set to play a relative of Carmy's, while FX confirmed in early 2023 that Gordon will play the recurring role of Claire, who has a complex history with Carmy, as evidenced during their grocery store run-in during episode 2, entitled "Pasta."
Additionally, we can expect cameos from A-listers including Jamie Lee Curtis, Sarah Paulson, John Mulaney and Olivia Colman. You'll have to tune in to see how these famous faces fit in with the story.
