This is how A-Rod reacted to the news of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's holiday reunion

It was rumored back in March that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez had ended their two-year engagement and speculation continued to swirl until the couple officially split in April. The drama has not stopped there, however: JLo has been spotted spending time with none other than Ben Affleck—and A-Rod is not happy.

Many of us remember "Bennifer" as the It couple of the noughties, with their whirlwind romance and that huge pink engagement ring. Who’d have thought this time last year that there would be a very real possibility of a reunion between the famous pair?

Fans went into a frenzy after the couple was spotted hanging out and then seen jetting off together. The couple went on holiday for a week in Montana—just the two of them.

An insider told E! News that Alex Rodriguez is "very shocked" and "saddened" by the news. 

The source said: "A-Rod is shocked that JLo has moved on. He truly thought they would be able to make it work and reconnect."

"He has been reaching out to JLo trying to meet with her and she has been very short with him."

Rodriguez has apparently contacted Lopez to let her know how upset he is, but the source said: "She's not interested in rekindling anything with A-Rod and is done."

Another source told E! that our dreams of a Bennifer reunion might actually become reality. They said: "She wants to give it a shot with Ben. They never really had closure and she has always wondered what could have been. The timing was never right and they were in different places until now."

"They have always stayed in touch and had a strong connection. She finally has had the opportunity to spend time with him and see where this could lead."
