The funniest reactions and memes to Adele's 'Easy on Me'

The new Adele, "Easy on Me," hilariously brought the internet together for a collective crying session

Adele performs on The Pyramid Stage on day 2 of the Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm, Pilton on June 25, 2016 in Glastonbury, England. Now its 46th year the festival is one largest music festivals in the world and this year features headline acts Muse, Adele and Coldplay. The Festival, which Michael Eavis started in 1970 when several hundred hippies paid just £1, now attracts more than 175,000 people.

We have to hand it to Adele. "Easy On Me" is the unifier we never knew we needed.

It's rare for the internet to find common ground on something—anything, really—but when it comes to the singer's new emotional ballad, we all agree that the best way to celebrate its release is with a good crying session.

"Easy On Me" is the first single from Adele's forthcoming album 30, an undertaking that focuses on some heavy material, particularly her divorce from Simon Konecki. 30 will be available on November 19, 2021. It's her first album in six years, and—it goes without saying—it's highly anticipated.

"It was bloody hard work to make," the crooner confessed to the BBC. "I was singing things I didn't even realize I was feeling or thinking. But I'm really, really proud of it and I feel like I can't unlock a door for my own mental health and take the key with me."

Thus far, the internet has been playing "Easy On Me" on repeat since it dropped last night on Thursday, October 14, wallowing uncontrollably and cathartically enjoying their cry. Dare we say it's bound to be one of the singer's best breakup songs of all time?

Grab the Kleenex, ladies and gents! We're going to press "play" again!
