Who is Theo Sharpe? Meet Eloise Bridgerton's potential love match
We sense a scandal…
If you have not yet binge-watched all of Bridgerton season 2, this is your spoiler warning! While many of us were expecting to see The Viscount, a.k.a. Anthony Bridgerton, find his long-awaited love match in Kate Sharma—we were so not expecting Eloise Bridgerton to potentially find hers in a printer boy employed by Lady Whistledown. So exactly who is Theo Sharpe and does Eloise end up with him?
In the sophomore season, we find Eloise where we left her—still detesting high society and in hot pursuit of Lady Whistledown’s true identity.
Her investigation leads her to a printing shop, in a part of the ton that a respectable young lady should never be, especially without a chaperone. It’s here that she meets Theo Sharpe…

Who is Theo Sharpe in 'Bridgerton' season 2?
Theo works as an apprentice at the printers that print Lady Whistledown’s gossip column. It also turns out that he is something of a writer himself, and introduces Eloise to his own pamphlets on women’s rights.
The two of them strike up an unlikely friendship, with Eloise sneaking away to visit him—tempting a scandal every time she does so.
Theo also agrees to help her investigate Lady Whistledown—and during the penultimate episode, the two share a very charged moment, where for a split second the audience are led to believe that they are about to kiss.
Eloise then, after copious warnings from best-friend Penelope, ends their relationship—but only after Whistledown/ Penelope reveals the pair's scandalous meetings in her column in a bid to protect her from Queen Charlotte who suspects Eloise to be the real Whistledown.
The season ends with their potential relationship unresolved, so there is definitely scope for his return in Bridgerton season 3. Despite the fact Theo does not actually exist in Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton books at all—one of the many differences between the show vs and the books.

Theo is played by 27-year-old Calam Lynch, one of several new actors to join the Bridgerton cast for season two.
Fans will recognize him from Derry Girls alongside Nicola Coughlan, Dunkirk, Mrs. Wilson, Black Beauty, and Benediction—and yes, we’ve found his Instagram for you…
Who does Eloise Bridgerton marry?
So now that we’ve established who Theo Sharpe is and the actor who brings him to life, let's dive into whether he ends up with Eloise…
As mentioned, Theo isn’t actually a character in the books but that does not mean he won’t have a role to play in upcoming seasons. In fact, Shonda Rhimes may choose to create her own ending for Eloise, as her future in the books is a bit more complicated. Plus it would be an interesting development to see Eloise break from society and marry someone from the working class—who actually sees her as more than just a wife.
In the books, get ready for this, Eloise actually ends up with Sir Philip Crane—Marina’s current husband!
In the 5th book, ‘To Sir Philip, With Love, ’ Marina dies from an illness and Eloise and Philip end up falling in love and marrying.
Shonda Rhimes could still pursue this storyline, but our hopes are that we’ll see more of Theo!
