Jonathan Van Ness' new self-care class on Skillshare is wellness goals
Class is in session! Queer Eye guru Jonathan Van Ness is launching a self-care playbook on Skillshare this week, and we can't wait to join in
These days, we'll take all of the self-care help we can get, and who better to give it than Jonathan Van Ness and Skillshare?
You know JVN as the preternaturally joyful grooming guru on Queer Eye and the bestselling author of Over the Top: A Raw Journey to Self-Love. But he's adding self-care expert to that lengthy resume with a brand-new wellness class on Skillshare, the online learning community that offers thousands of virtual classes on skill topics as varied as business, tech, design, and, yes, self-care.
Launched June 14th, JVN's new Skillshare Original Class is titled "The Ultimate Self-Care Playbook: Discover & Nurture Your Centered Self," and it follows the TV personality and podcast host as he reveals the techniques and tools that he personally uses to practice self-care in his own life, as well as tips for how you can apply them to your own.
- Self-care day ideas for the perfect day dedicated to yourself
Whether that's adopting journaling for beginners, breaking out the best yoga mats you've got for a good stretch, or sparking your creativity through crochet, the tips are approachable, actionable, and actually fun. Would you expect anything less from JVN?
And one thing we love from "The Ultimate Self-Care Playbook," as well as all Skillshare classes, is that the courses focus on interaction, not just lecturing, which really makes it feel like you're getting hands-on, one-on-one guidance from Van Ness and Skillshare's other expert hosts.
"From this class, I hope you take resources and tools for you to strengthen your relationship with yourself, for you to learn to try new things, or maybe you're coming back to something you used to do but you don't do anymore," says JVN in a teaser for the program.
"But most of all, I hope that you take the idea that taking time for yourself is not selfish," Van Ness continues. "It's actually the most important investment you can give yourself in moving forward with authenticity, integrity, and joy in your life." Amen to that!
- The best self-care practice according to your zodiac sign
