Love Island fans convinced Davide is actually 'in love' with Ekin-Su for the sweetest reason

If you need a mood boost, then tonight's episode of Love Island 2022 was most certainly it. Viewers at home swooned as Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu chose to recouple with former flame Davide Sanclimenti in a truly heart-warming moment by the firepit. The pair had previously been enjoying a blossoming romance before the Turkish actress, 27, ditched the Italian businessman, also 27, to get to know Jay Younger—who she crawled on the floor to secretly kiss in one of the most memorable Love Island moments—then Charlie Radnedge.

However, this evening the female Love Island cast were tasked with deciding which male Islander they wanted to couple up with, and Ekin-Su decided to give things a go once more with Davide. This was much to the delight of many of those watching (want to join them? Here's how to watch Love Island UK) who had been calling for them to get back together after noting their obvious chemistry. Posting on Twitter one wrote: "Omg I think Ekin-Su and Davide might be my favourite couple?! Pure CHEESING watching em." Another shared: "Why I'm smiling from ear to ear. Love them together."

However, even once they had recoupled, Davide went to great efforts to indicate to the other Islanders and Ekin-Su that he was ambivalent about her decision. But viewers weren't so convinced by his blasé demeanour. One asked: "Why can’t Davide accept the fact he loves Ekin-Su?" Another noted: "Aaaah look at how Davide smiles around Ekin-Su—he’s hooked." Part of their reasoning was thanks to a rather sweet gesture he made when the pair went for a private chat in a corner of the villa. "Davide moving the stool so Ekin-Su could sit by the fire," pointed out a smitten social media user. 

It comes after the previous instalment of Love Island season eight saw Ekin-Su, who was wearing a sexy wedding dress outfit, send Davide's heart rate soaring with a racy lapdance—and a very passionate kiss—as part of a challenge. She later went on to hint to him that she was open to them being reunited, leading to him looking obviously thrilled. Together they almost stole the show away from the brewing drama that was Gemma Owen causing ex-boyfriend Jacques O'Neill's heart rate to spike with her own sultry performance - leading to his love interest Paige Thorne sharing her understandable annoyance.

However, the rest of this evening's recoupling didn't stir up too much trouble, with Natasha Ghouri choosing Andrew Le Page and Indiyah Polack going for for Dami Hope. Although many social media users suggesting that, with Casa Amor fast approaching, the producers wanted to allow some solid coupes to form in order for them to be tested.
