Love Island fans shocked as teaser clip shows Dami appearing to kiss new girl

Tonight's episode of Love Island 2022 came with a fair few surprises. From Gemma Owen discovering that Luca Bish had packed his 'fish flops' in her suitcase for Casa Amor, to Ronan Keating's son Jack opening up about his famous father and Paige Thorne appearing to be won over by new male contestant Billy Brown. 

However, one of the biggest shocks of the night for viewers was not only Dami Hope's seeming quickness to forget Indiyah Polock, with whom he is coupled up—but also the release of a teaser clip for tomorrow's show appearing to him kissing new girl Summer Botwe.

Those watching at home (if you want to join them, here's where to watch Love Island) started to share their unease when the Irish microbiologist revealed his eagerness to get to know the six new female Islanders who had just arrived in the sunny villa.

It was a turn of events even more baffling because he had sweetly packed up the suitcase of the 23-year-old hotel waitress from London, including apparently leaving his ring inside. However, the piece of jewelry was nowhere to be seen when she rifled through its contents in Casa Amor.

As the episode went on, viewers were shocked as Dami was shown as increasingly open to having his head turned and was even encouraging his fellow contestants—particularly Luca—to also keep their options open. The final straw among fans was when he was seen, in brief footage, checking that the coast was clear before locking lips with Summer.

This surprising sequence of events led fans to share their despair in their droves on Twitter. One wrote: "We were rooting for you Dami." Another commented: "Dami I’m disappointed bro." Another added: "'I’m here to explore new connections'. It’s not LinkedIn, Dami. Enough of this."

However, social media users suggested that the producers may be responsible for trying to deliberately stir up trouble between Dami and Indiyah. One noted: "The real mystery is where is Dami’s ring he packed for Indiyah’s suitcase—I know the producers must have sabotaged and took it out to make it look like he never left her anything of sentimental value." 

Others were convinced that he doesn't actually go through with the kiss. One pointed out: "Reserving judgment on the Dami kiss—need context!" Another shared: "Their lips didn’t touch, there’s still room to dodge it. I expect the maddest of curves from Dami tomorrow."

However, the Irishman wasn't the only male Islander to be open to fresh romance with the six new girls. Despite being coupled up with Paige, Jacques O'Neill appeared to have no qualms about getting "tested". Meanwhile, Jay Younger is in a 'friendship' couple and keen to meet his match and Andrew Le Page was encouraged to move on after being told that Natasha Ghouri wasn't quite so into him. Indeed, tomorrow's teaser clip also shows him enjoying a kiss with a mystery brunette. On the other hand, Luca and Davide Sanclimenti are so far staying steadfast in their loyalty.
