Love Island's Laura Whitmore re-wore a very special outfit

Laura Whitmore proves that Love Island’s fast-fashion days are truly dead as she re-wore her iconic heart top from Love Island 2020’s finale.

Love Island season eight has started with a bang and a number of serious changes that we so were not expecting. From the public choosing the first couples to all Islanders receiving inclusion training—not to mention the incredible news that Love Island has officially ditched its fast-fashion sponsors.

This shake-up was announced ahead of the show's start date and clearly, we weren’t the only ones thrilled by the planet-friendly move. In fact the show's host, Laura Whitmore showed her support for the change by opting for her very own pre-loved wardrobe during the first episode.

If you thought you recognized the red heart cut-out top, you were right on the money—as we have seen it before! Yep, the Whitmore (as hubby and narrator Ian Stirling lovingly calls her) actually repeated the outfit she wore for the season six finale!

She expertly proved that outfits can and should be worn more than once—and that changing them up is very easy.

In the finale of the 2020 show where Paige Turley and Finely Tapp took the win, Laura paired her Joshua Kane heart waistcoat with a matching red, structured jacket and flared trousers—giving the outfit a more edgy, nighttime vibe.

Whereas for the first episode of this season, she wore the waistcoat on its own with a pair of red shorts, for a summery look.

If you aren’t a Love Island connoisseur you might have missed the nostalgic garment entirely, which just proves that re-wearing your outfits is not a fashion faux par as other celebs may lead us to believe.

Fans also showed her outfit a lot of love after she shared a carousel of her fit on Instagram. One commented: “Love the adaption of that iconic outfit.”

And another said: “Love that you’re wearing @joshuakanebespoke waistcoat again!”

We’re already excited for her next appearance to see if we can spot another nod to previous seasons! Plus whenever she enters the villa, drama ensues—so there’s that too!
