BFFs Nina Dobrev and Julianne Hough launch a wine brand
The two stars are the latest celebs to get in the wine business
We've definitely downed our fair share of vino while watching The Vampires Diaries—now series star Nina Dobrev is sinking her fangs into the wine business herself, alongside her longtime best friend and dancer-actress Julianne Hough.
Following in the oenophilic footsteps of Cameron Diaz, Post Malone, and John Legend, Nina Dobrev and Julianne Hough are the just latest celebrities to launch their own wine brand, entitled Fresh Vine Wine.
The famous friends, who met eight years ago through their hairstylist Riawna Capri, have been at work on the wine brand for more than two years, collaborating with award-winning Napa Valley winemaker, Jamey Whetstone.

- Hangover myths debunked - you might want to read this before reaching for that glass of wine
The wines—which currently include a Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay—are a "unique collection of bold, crisp, and creamy wines that embody health, warmth, and a deeper connection to wellness and an active lifestyle," according to the brand's site.
According to VegNews, the brand uses natural winemaking processes for the hand-picked California grapes, and the wines are made without animal ingredients or fining agents like isinglass (derived from fish bladders), so each bottle is gluten-free, keto, and vegan.
On the site, Hough says: "The very foundation of my friendship with Nina is built upon experiencing and sharing life together, always with a glass of wine in hand. We both lead very active and physical lifestyles, with a holistic approach, so we wanted to make a product that not only complimented our lives but was also still of premium quality and impeccable taste."

- Head's up! This color wine will give you the worst hangover
Though only three bottles are currently available as part of the initial brand launch, a California Rosé ($14.89) and Limited Reserve Napa Cabernet ($80) are available for preorder and will launch this spring and fall, respectively.
Dobrev told VegNews: "We both think it’s incredibly important to enjoy every single moment with the people you love and find connection through enjoying the simple pleasures in life. That for us, is laughing and indulging in our favorite tastes. That to us, is Fresh Vine wine."

Fresh Vine Wine has some celebrity competition in the vegan wine arena. Cameron Diaz's Avaline brand, which she launched in summer 2020 with entrepreneur Katherine Power, is organic and animal-free. And Cara Delevingne debuted her vegan prosecco brand Della Vite alongside her sisters Poppy and Chloe last year in the U.K., with sights set on the states later this year. But don't worry, ladies, there's room in our wine fridge for everyone!
