All the NTAs Love Island shenanigans from the 2022 red carpet

If you’ve been pining for all your favorite Love Island couples since the 2022 finale and have had your mind consumed over when the next Love Island UK will be hitting screens, we’ve got some good news—the National Television Awards just witnessed a major villa reunion and even saw the newbies connect with a few of the most popular Love Island alums ever. And before you ask, obviously the event wasn’t drama-free! Here are all the NTAs Love Island appearances and a breakdown of all the shenanigans that ensued…

Um, can we just take a moment for Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu’s new hair? The Oh Polly queen has ditched her honey-blonde tresses for a dark, brunette look and we’re living for it. She showed off her hair in all its glory as she walked the red carpet with her fellow Love Island winner and boyfriend, Davide Sanclimenti—and reunited with lots of her fellow Love Island 2022 cast mates, including the likes of Tasha and Andrew, Dami and Indiyah, Antigoni Buxton, Paige Thorne, Adam Collard, Gemma Owen and Danica Taylor.

Our 2022 alums also rubbed shoulders with a number of Love Island legends, *cough* Maura Higgins—and not to mention the new Love Island UK host, Maya Jama.

Basically, it was a whole Love Island extravaganza at last night’s NTAs—and yes, there were a few spicy moments…

We know our fellow Love Island fans would want us to kick off with the drama. While many of the ex-islanders still seem to be close friends, the red carpet did supply us with some relationship drama—namely between Adam Collard and Paige Thorne.

Adam, the infamous bad boy that has now featured in two seasons of the hit reality show, revealed at the NTAs, following weeks of speculation, that he and Paige had split.

He told the Sun on the red carpet, “We're not together. Things happen. But I mean she is a great girl." Things were also likely a bit tense between him and Ekin-Su, as she gave an interview earlier in the week, stating that Paige can ‘do better’—ouch. 

Love Island’s former host Laura Whitmore also made an appearance at the awards, after quitting the show in August—which could have resulted in an awkward encounter with her predecessor, Maya Jama who was also in attendance. But thankfully, there’s no bad blood here, after Laura commented on Maya’s Love Island host announcement with: “Yes girl!! So delighted for you! You’re gonna be fab.” We love to see it.

Speaking of awkwardness though, there was one moment that viewers jumped on. Gemma Owen attended the NTA’s with her dad, footballer Michael Owen to present one of the awards and while they were on stage, fans claimed he need to remind her to actually open the award envelope—personally, we didn’t see it, plus it’s a nerve-wracking moment!

Maya Jama

Maya Jama—who will make her hosting debut for Love Island’s winter series—looked ethereal on the red carpet, wearing a white off-the-shoulder gown and rocky a 90s-style spiky bun. 

We already can't wait for the looks she'll pull out in the villa!

Ekin-Su & Davide

If anyone was worried about the status of Ekin-Su and Davide's relationship, their seriously adorable red-carpet appearance should dispel all your fears.

The pair looked gorgeous, with Ekin-Su wearing an off-the-shoulder black lace dress, paired with a red lip and her new expensive brunette locks. While Davide channeled his inner James Bond, rocking a black suit and tie. During the Awards show, Ekin also shared a video of them sitting together and holding hands—help, they're too cute. 

We can't wait to see these two on a road trip in their upcoming ITV2 show!

Tasha & Andrew

Tasha and Andrew are swiftly becoming everyone's fave Love Island 2022 couple and we totally see why.

Andrew looked very dapper, wearing a copper blazer while Tasha wore a long, black mesh gown and even rocked a straight bob hairstyle. Honestly, these two could be models...

Dami & Indiyah

Dami and Indiyah looked equally stylish at the NTA's, with Dami wearing a silver embroidered blazer and Indiyah wearing an embellished, black minidress. 

We'd also like to point out that she matched her hair to Dami's suit, swapping her iconic blonde streaks for silvery grey.

Paige Throne, Antigoni Buxton and Danica Taylor

These three took on the NTA's as a glamorous trio, with Antigoni sharing a number of videos of them enjoying their time—and likely avoiding Adam following his very recent split from Paige.

Antigoni wore a cutout, gold sating dress, with Paige rocking a red bustier and Danica a silver, glittery dress. They were giving girl gang vibes in the best way. 

Adam Collard

Adam did not post any snaps with his fellow islanders on his Insta Stories but regardless looked very cool, wearing a black velvet blazer and bow-tie combo.

Unlike 2022 co-stars, he's actually attended a fair few NTAs before, following his OG Love Island stint. He actually attended the award show for the first time with his first Love Island pairing, Zara McDermott in 2019.

Gemma Owen

Despite still being in a relationship with Luca Bish, Gemma attended the NTAs with her famous footballer dad, Michael Owen—with whom she presented an award.

On the red carpet, she wore a long, off-the-shoulder gold gown, while her dad opted for a classic black tux.

Maura Higgins & Faye Winter

Among the new islanders attending the awards were also a few Love Island legends, including Maura and Faye—who, despite starring in different series' have struck up a friendship. Faye Shared a video of her reunited with Maura, who called her 'my baby!'

As for their looks, Maura wore a dramatic white, cut-out dress, which showed off some seriously toned abs (Ms. Maura, please drop your ab routine, thanks.), while Faye wore a cream, ruffle satin number.
