Taylor Swift won the Global Icon Award at the BRIT Awards 2021, and her acceptance speech was quite something.
Introduced by Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, the American singer got up on stage to accept the honor, after being the first woman and the first non-British artist to get the award.
But as well as a special video with plenty of famous faces to congratulate her, it was her acceptance speech that made the room cheer for Tay—after we were already emotional from Little Mix's acceptance speech...

Taylor's inspiring acceptance speech at the BRIT Awards included a very special message for anyone who's met with challenges in their chosen career—if you're finding resistance, you're probably a pioneer, and that only means you should keep going.
"There is no career path that comes free of negativity. If you are met with resistance that probably means that you’re doing something new. If you’re experiencing turbulence or pressure that probably means you’re rising", she said.
"We live in a world where anybody has the right to say anything about you at any time, but just remember that you have the right to prove them wrong."
She also thanked the key workers present in the audience, saying: I’m really, really proud to be part of this musical community, especially in a year when we all needed music so much.
“But what we needed even more was the help and support that we got from the NHS and the key workers who are here tonight.
“Thank you for everything that you have done for us.”

Who was in Taylor Swift's Global Icon Award video?
Before the singer was presented with the award, we got to see a video highlighting her contributions to the music industry, filled with plenty of testimonies from friends and people in the industry.
Starting things off was Selena Gomez, who she's been friends with since they were teenagers, but the video also included Zoë Kravitz, Annie Lennox, Griff (who won the BRITs Rising Star Award), and Ed Sheeran.
Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran relationship
Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran's relationship often confuses fans as they're so close—are they exes, are they family, or what is going on? But the two are just very good mates and have been for nearly a decade now. In fact, Taylor even threw a special 4th of July party to celebrate Ed's first anniversary with his now-wife Cherry Seaborn. How cute are they?
Congrats, Taylor!
