This twisted ponytail hack will transform your look in minutes
An effortless updo in seconds
TikTok is our favorite place to find the best hacks and hair inspiration, whether it’s making us seriously consider following the wolf cut hairstyle or pulling our hair up into Bella Hadid’s iconic bun. And now we think we’ve found our autumn season go-to—the twisted ponytail.
Ponytails are a timeless—and versatile—classic. Not only do they keep your hair away from your face on days when you really can’t be bothered, but they can also be the perfect sleek going-out look.
There’s a reason why a ponytail is Ariana Grande’s favorite style—and if it gets a yes from Ari, it gets a yes from us. But right now It’s not just any old ponytail that’s trending on TikTok—but rather a twisted ponytail that is both cute and super easy.

The twisted ponytail can either be a tighter, higher pony or lower and messier and there are a few variations on how you can achieve the look but they all take less than five minutes. So if you’re running late or you're a self-proclaimed lazy girl—like us—you can create this pretty style fast.
The easiest way to create a twist ponytail is to just tie your hair in a low pony, carefully split the hair to make a hole above the hair tie, and then fold your pony up and through the hole. As shown by user @willowgait_x it’s really easy to do and takes very minimal effort.

Another variation, for a tighter, more secure ponytail, is to section out two front pieces of your hair, twist them and then tie them together.
Then tie the remainder of your hair in a ponytail and bring the front sections back, twist around and pull your ponytail through it. It's almost as if you’ve made the hair tie with the front pieces.

And for anyone with thicker hair—there’s an even simpler way to create a similar look. Just tie the top half of your hair up, make a hole above the tie, and weave the rest of your hair through. This will create a looser ponytail but still very cute and no product required
